Downtown airports such as Billy Bishop play a vital role in City building, supporting businesses, culture and tourism and complete communities. A recent report by Dr. Richard Florida, Toronto’s Downtown Airport: A Powerful Economic Asset in the City’s Urban Core, notes that “Billy Bishop is central to Toronto’s prosperity…it provides a direct gateway to leading cities such as New York, Washington, D.C., Boston, and Chicago, bolstering Toronto’s role as a global talent and tech hub.”
Nieuport Aviation and PortsToronto provided an exclusive guided airport tour, led by Jennifer Quinn, Chief Strategy and Development Officer at Nieuport Aviation (owner and operator of the Billy Bishop Airport Terminal) and Warren Askew, Vice President, Airport at PortsToronto.
Following the tour, dinner was held at Valerie Restaurant at Hotel X (111 Princes’ Boulevard at Exhibition Place)
